If you are a regular reader of World Class Poetry Blog, you’ll notice that I’ve added a few features in the last couple of days. These features are added both for the blog itself and for the RSS feed, with one exception.
Under each post you’ll see a set of links, provided courtesy of Feedburner. The idea is to make it easy for my readers to share the blog posts with their friends in one of several methods:
In addition, readers can subscribe to the blog themselves by clicking on the “Subscribe by email” link.
A Note On These Social Sharing Services
I’m a big fan of StumbleUpon. I use it all the time. Whenever I’ve shared a post that I think might have wide appeal on SU, I’ve received a fair amount of traffic. In fact, StumbleUpon is one of my top referrers, both for the blog and for the World Class Poetry website. If you use StumbleUpon, feel free to add me to your friends list.
If you are one of the many users of Facebook, you’ll be glad to know that you can now share World Class Poetry Blog posts with your friends on Facebook. I confess that I have not made the most that I can of this social networking tool, but I do realize its potential. Perhaps one of these days I’ll dig deeper into the Facebook potential. Meanwhile, feel free to make me your friend and share my blog posts as well.
Technorati is a blog community that allows its members to vote on their favorite blogs. The really popular blogs can get a decent reputation, which can translate into additional traffic and a higher reputation online overall. I’m not begging, but if you are a Technorati user, feel free to add me to your favorites list. My current rank and authority are 395,824 and 21, respectively.
And, of course, e-mail needs no introduction. Got a friend who isn’t all that web savvy but who enjoys poetry or reading about poetry? E-mail them a blog post. They’ll thank you later, and so will I.
Treats For My RSS Subscribers
If you subscribe to my RSS feed you’ll see all the same links as above with the exception of “Subscribe by email.” I figure, if you’re already a subscriber then you don’t need to subscribe again.
I’ve included the subscribe by email option for regular blog readers because not everyone knows about RSS feeds or how to subscribe to them. I wanted to make it easy for them to get my blog posts by e-mail each day. If you’d rather receive my blog posts by e-mail rather than your feed reader, just unsubscribe from the feed and click on the “Subscribe by email” link at the bottom of one of my posts. Otherwise, share me with your friends at Facebook, StumbleUpon, and Technorati. And feel free to send me a message from time to time to let me know how I’m doing. Suggestions are welcome.
