Jillypoet Sends Invitations To Her ‘Free For All’
7 January 2008, the poet @ 11:09 pm

Jillypoet announced on her blog yesterday that she would be playing poetry with a few of her friends.

Actually, it does sound like fun. From her own site, this is how she describes it:

It’s a different sort of poetry site. Each month we will read a poem by a well-known or lesser-known poet, then discuss for a week. The next week we will write from a prompt based on the poem (and maybe other poems like it). The next week we’ll have everyone post links to their poems, and the final week, well, it’s a poetry free-for-all.

I like the free for all part. It makes me think of Ted Nugent. My favorite line from the God rocker’s famous song by that name:

When in doubt, I’ll whip it out. I got me in a rock’n'roll band
It’s a free for all

Yes, indeed. Jillypoet and her sweet young friends are having their own free for all. A poetry free for all. And I just may join in and, you know, whip it out.
